Silent.
The electrode enters around cell 5. This neuron does not fire any action potentials when penetrated. It eventually settles at a resting potential around −50 mV, with a shallow hyperpolarization about every 2.5 s. When stimulated with depolarizing current, it may fire one action potential at stimulus onset. There is no postinhibitory rebound after hyperpolarizing stimuli.
